Servicing FAQs
What's the difference between interim and full service?
An interim service is a roughly 6-monthly (or 6,000-mile) check — oil, filters, fluid levels, brakes and tyres. A full service is the complete annual job, covering every item on the manufacturer's schedule, including things an interim doesn't touch like spark plugs, air/pollen filters and a full underbody check.
Do you follow the manufacturer's schedule or a generic one?
Manufacturer intervals — including cambelt replacement intervals, which vary a lot between makes and matter far more than a generic "every 60,000 miles" rule of thumb. Missing a cambelt change is one of the most expensive mistakes an owner can make.
Can I get an MOT done at the same time?
Yes — most customers do both in one visit. Mention it on the enquiry form and we'll book the MOT alongside the service.
Why isn't car/van servicing a fixed price like motorhome servicing?
Parts and labour vary too much between makes and models to quote a single fixed price — pop your reg and the service you'd like on the enquiry form and we'll email back an accurate price and date, usually within one working day.

Our story
From stretch limousines to Swindon's MOT & service workshop
Redvers Services began in June 1997 as a stretch-limousine business in Duncan's Yard on Ermin Street, Swindon, before moving to the Isis Trading Estate off Shrivenham Road. As the limousine trade faded we moved into motorhomes and vehicle servicing, and in 2016 settled into our current home at Redvers Yard, behind 126 Ferndale Road.
Nearly thirty years on, we're an independent, family-run workshop servicing and MOT-testing cars, vans, motorhomes, minibuses and horseboxes up to 5 tonnes — to manufacturer intervals, with or without an MOT — for drivers across Swindon, Wiltshire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Gloucestershire. No VAT, and the price you see is the price you pay.
